MN 55303 <br /> <br />(612) 427-1410 <br /> <br />(612) 427-5543 <br /> <br />Dates Local Critical Area Plan/Ordinances were Adopted: <br /> <br />The Critical River Area and Shoreland ordinances were adopted by the City of <br />Ramsey on June 25, 1985, together as one ordinance under the "Environmental <br />Protection" section of the City code. The ordinances were first amended on <br />August 15, 1988. This amendment provided for sufficient right-of-way to the <br />City to allow for a paved roadway or future street and a separate eight foot wide <br />paved river trail corridor within the right-of way and the Critical Area District. <br />The ordinances were again amended on January 23, 1990. This amendment <br />defined trail corridor alignments and right-of-way widths for various segments of <br />the proposed Mississippi River Regional Corridor Trail within the city. <br /> <br />Proposed Project Purpose and Outcomes: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey's project will consist of reviewing and assessing the Critical <br />River Area ordinance and to decide how local plans and ordinances can be <br />updated to conform with the MNRRA Comprehensive Plan. The City will strive <br />to protect, preserve, and enhance the significant resources existing within the <br />boundaries of the MNRRA.
