Upon receipt of National Park Service funds, the City will begin the
process of revision of both the Critical River Area and Shoreland Ordinances
within this section of the Code.

Goals and Issues to be addressed as related to MNRRA and Mississippi
River Critical Area Governor's Executive Order. Approach or strategy to
address issues:

The goals to be addressed include updating the Critical River Area ordinance and
other ordinances related to MNRRA with the purpose of achieving MNRRA
policies, and developing and enhancing enjoyment and usage associated with the
Mississippi River and other natural resources. Other goals include;

* developing connections between the MNRRA corridor and other significant

land types and uses including the 2,000 acre Trott Brook Trail Corridor;

* providing for increased pedestrian mobility;

* ensuring continued protection of resources within the area; and

* environmentally sensitive development of the corridor.

Strategies to achieve these goals will include extensively involving citizens and
neighborhood groups, and working with other governmental units in order to
develop consistent plans for management of the Mississippi River corridor. The
overall objective of this project is to develop a comprehensive management plan
for the MNRRA corridor within the City of Ramsey.

Page 2 of 9

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
