Case//2: Recommend Hiring Gregory SulIivan as Patrol Officer Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that it was the consensus of the interview panel to recommend hiring Gregory Sullivan as patrol officer, contingent on successful completion of background checks, physical examination and psychological examination. He would start at a wage of $31,021 with a start date of May 1 or later. She explained that a vacancy has been created due to the Sergeant position moving into the Police Chief position. Ms. Waite Smith added that Mr. Sullivan is certified to teach a number of courses to our current officers. Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to recommend Council authorize hiring Gregory Sullivan as a Patrol Officer at an annual salary of $31,021, contingent on his successfully passing background checks, a physical examination and a psychological examination. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen and Beyer. Voting No: None. Case #3: End Probationary Period of Receptionist Jo Ann Krejca Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that Jo Ann Krejca began working for the City as Receptionist on October 15, I996, and her six-month probationary period ends April 15, 1997. Ms. Waite Smith reported that a satisfactory work performance appraisal has been completed and she recommends that Ms. Krejca be retained as a regular, full-time City employee, effective April 15, 1997. Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to recommend Council adopt the resolution ending the probationary period for Receptionist Jo Ann Krejca and grant her the status of regular, full-time employee, effective April 15, 1997. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen and Beyer. Voting No: None. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to adjourn the meeting.
