The actual connection charge amount shall be determined annually by city Council resolution. 4.80.06 PAYMENT OF CONNECTION CHARGE The City, at its option, may consent to the spreading of the connection charge against the building permit applicant's property as a special assessment for a period not to exceed ten (10) years in equal annual installments with interest payable at the current rate of interest used for special assessment projects per annum on the unpaid balance. In the event there are deferred assessments levied against the subject premises, then at the option of the City, prior to issuance of a building permit, the building permit applicant shall be required to: a. Pay the balance owing thereon; or be Consent to the spreading of such charge against the subject premises in the form of a special assessment for a period not to exceed ten (10) years in equal annual installments with interest payable at the rate of eight (8) percent per annum on the unpaid balance. 4.80.07 UNPAID CONNECTION CHARGES Unpaid connection charges shall be certified to the county auditor with taxes against the premises served for collection as other taxes and special assessments are collected. 4.80.08 EFFECTIVE DATE The effective date of this Ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject to City Charter Section 5.07.
