3'/ <br /> <br />Nagel stated that his concern is that it was too much money and that <br />he also agrees that if QCTV-15 does it for Anoka, they would also have <br />to do it for everybody else. <br /> <br />Peterson recommended a Budget Committee meeting to create a policy <br />for allocation of the advertising money. He also questioned doing this <br />on a first come first serve basis. <br /> <br />Nagel suggested that the Budget Committee draft a policy to allocate <br />the funds for advertising. His other concern was which community to <br />advertise in, and should it be equal amounts. <br /> <br />A MOTION was made by Jacobson, and seconded by Peterson to HAVE <br />THE BUDGET COMMITTEE CREATE A POLICY FOR THE <br />ALLOCATION OF ADVERTISING FUNDS. <br /> <br />O'Connell asked if the Budget Committee was writing the policy. <br /> <br />Peterson replied yes, it would be drafted by the committee. <br /> <br />The Board of Directors will be taking action on this issue once the <br />committee submits its policy for approval. <br /> <br />5 ayes - 0 nays <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />4.2 DISCUSS OPTIONS FOR INTERNET ACCESS <br /> <br />O'Connell spoke about the internet and World Web. He requested that <br />a contract for access be entered in to the Minneapolis TV Network <br />(MTN) and use a virtual web site, and noted it will cost $610.00. He <br />suggested that there be $700.00 moved out of un-allocated funds into <br />the Internet Access fund. <br /> <br />Jacobson questioned why it was being developed for QCTV-15 and who <br />would access the web site of QCTV-15. <br /> <br />O'ConneI1 replied that it will be used for advertising purposes and <br />Community Information Web pages. It will have on it community <br />programming information and it is not for the Commission. <br /> <br />Creighton commented that other access corporations have received up <br />to 450 hits on the web site, and that it was quite phenomenal. <br /> <br />O'Connell stated the since they are called a cable commission that they <br />are supposed to be telecommunication experts, and that the cities look <br />to the Commission for advice.
