On page three under "Application and Procedure," "3" was changed to "4" (first paragraph, fourth sentence). Commissioner Asfahl encouraged implementation of a project completion deadline. Commissioner Ostrum suggested an amended clause that would allow the Commission to reserve the right to extend completion deadlines if issues associated with a project came up. After further discussion, three additional items were agreed upon. 1) The intent of the Lawful Gambling Fund Program is for projects to be completed within the calendar year they received funding 2) Projects not completed within the approved calendar year are not necessarily eligible to receive continued funding. 3) The Commission reserves the right to review uncompleted projects for consideration purposes of funding new projects. Case #6: 1997 Environmental Festival As per Commission request, Mr. Boos formulated a sign-up sheet for Commission members to reserve times they will be present at a booth/table sponsored by the Park & Recreation Commission. Commissioners Johns, Cook, and LaMere will cover from 9-11 a.m.; Commissioners Ostrurn, Rolfe, and Asfahl will cover from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Commissioner Droegemueller will cover from 1- 2:30 p.m. Input was received from Commission members about what materials/displays to have available for citizens at the Festival. Suggestions of items and/or information to have available included: aerial photos of City parks, CIP for 1998; questionnaire for citizens to complete; general information sheet on the Commission and its corresponding year-end report and activity(s); color pictures with brief narratives; park and trail plans; maps of trails and parks; and five-year CIP. COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT Park & Recreation Commission Applications Mr. Boos talked about respective term limits for Commission members. Proposed Moratorium Ordinance Mr. Boos talked about the ordinance at hand for consideration which will be further discussed at the Planning Cormnission's March 25, 1997, meeting. In response to Chair Cook, Mr. Boos indicated the stated period listed in the sample ordinance is 180 days (as found in Section 7).
