CASE # REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR STREET AND STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS TO INDUSTRIAL PARK By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer Background: The City of Ramsey hereby solicits a proposal from your firm for professional services to provide street and storm sewer improvements to an industrial park area located within the Northwest Quarter of Section 35. A location map of the improvement areas is attached. The improvements are located in two separate areas. The Oak Ridge Industrial Park is currently platted and has had sanitary sewer and watermain improvements installed. However, street and storm sewer will need to be installed. Street improvements will consist of 300 feet of roadway and a cul-de-sac. It is anticipated that storm sewer will be installed at the neck of the cul-de-sac and will drain to the east property line of the subdivision, then south and east along the property line to discharge into a drainage area, currently located on Outlot A in the Business Park 94 addition. No legal descriptions or easement wiI1 need to be acquired as a part of the consultant's work. A preliminary drainage analysis of the area has been made for the storm sewer system. The consultant will need to review this plan and design the street and storm sewer improvements necessary to complete the development of the Oak Ridge Industrial Park. A second element to the work will be the construction of a storm sewer adjacent to the north side of the railroad tracks also illustrated on the attached location map. Presently a storm sewer exists in McKinley Street, however, this storm sewer has capacity to handle only a portion of the drainage from the proposed development south of McKinley Street. Five individual site plans for the area south of McKinley Street have recently been prepared and are available. A preliminary drainage analysis for the area has been made. The consultant will be expected to review the site plans and preliminary drainage analysis in designing the storm sewer. The storm sewer will discharge to a large regional basin located on Outlot D of Business Park 95, Second Addition. Summary of Services For ali of the above described work, the consultant will (1) review preliminary drainage analysis, (2) survey and design, (3) prepare plans and specifications, (4) solicit construction bids, (5) provide project management, (6) Provide surveying and inspections throughout the construction, and (7) prepare "as built" plans following construction.
