Staff has reviewed the revisions you have made based <br /> off of the City's comments of the preliminary plat review. Staff would like to <br /> continue to have a discussion with you regarding the specifics of the boulevard <br /> plantings such as the use of cut-outs/planters, irrigation of the cut-outs/planters, the <br /> type of grates used in the cut-outs, strategies to reduce the chance of "buckling" the <br /> sidewalks, and the use of materials to enhance root growth and livability of the <br /> plantings. Staf£also would like to discuss the maintenance of the trees. The final plat <br /> approval will be contingent on resolving these issues. <br /> <br />13. Sidewalks/Trails. Comments regarding the sidewalk/trail plan are addressed is the <br /> City Engineering Department's review letter. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />Park Dedication/Open Space. The developer has been meeting with the Ramsey <br />Park and Recreation Commission to discuss the creation of parks within the Town <br />Center developments. The plat of Town Center Addition shows over 35 acres <br />designated as parks. The Park and Recreation Commission is still reviewing the <br />proposed parks and will be making a determination on what parks they will accept to <br />meet the park dedication and what park dedication fees if any will be charged for the <br />plat. The City has the option for cash, land, Or a combination of the two. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission has made an initial recommendation that states <br />that until further negotiated, past practice and precedent will be used in awarding <br />credit for land dedication. The Commission continuing to hold meetings to review <br />potential land dedication and acceptable improvements. <br /> <br />The City Council will be meeting'at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station No. 2, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. NW, to review your final plat. You or your <br />representative should plan on being at the meeting to discuss the project. A copy of the case <br />cover sheet is enclosed.
