Brian Olson, City of Ramsey
September 16, 2003

I i"4C.

D) General Construction Issues
l) Valve and hydrant spacing generally appears to rheet recommended standards. Val,ring is
generally shown at each main intersection. Hydrants have generally been located within the
AWWA recommended standard of 300-600 ft. Final plans should be reviewed with City
Maintenance Staff and the Fire Department for serviceability and maintenance consideration.
2) Water, Sewer and Irrigation water stubs are located throughout the plans. Irrigation and sewer stub
sizes are not indicated and where shown water stubs are indicated to be 2". In each case, the size
of the stub will need to be verified with the intended usage of the site. Also, the number of stubs
shown do not appear to be adequate for the proposed development
3) In several locations, watermains, sanitary sewer and storm sewer are shown crossing at angles
rather than perpendicular. This will make any further maintenance on these ma/ns more difficult
then if the mains cross at right angles. Each intersection should be evaluated for modifications of
the design to allow for fight angle crossings where possible.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me at 507-625-4171.
