PROPOSED ORDINANCE t/03- <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9, WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING AND <br />SUBDIVISION OF LAND CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB-SECTION 9.11.04 "HOME OCCUPATIONS", OF <br />SECTION 9.11 "PERFORMANCE STANDARDS" OF CHAPTER 9 "ZONING AND <br />SUBDIVSION OF LAND" OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. REPEAL <br /> <br />Sub-section 9.11.04 (Home Occupations), shall be repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Sub-section 9.11.04 (Home Occupations shall be replaced with the following text: <br /> <br />9.11.04 Home Occupations. A Home Occupations Permit (Permit) shall be required in <br />order to provide peace, quiet, and domestic tranquility within all residential neighborhoods <br />within the City, and in order to guarantee to all residents freedom from excessive noise, <br />excessive traffic, nuisance, fire hazard and other possible effects of commercial uses being <br />conducted in residential areas. Applications for a Permit shall be processed in accordance with <br />the processing procedure established for Conditional Use Permits in Section 9.03.05 of this <br />Code. <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Exemptions from Permit Requirements. Home occupations that <br />comply with the following criteria are exempt from the Permit requirements: <br /> <br />Home Occupations that are conducted in the building, which is used by the <br />occupant as the private dwelling; and, furthermore, no more than one room of <br />the dwelling shall be used for such purpose. <br /> <br />b. No display of interior or exterior business signs unless otherwise permitted in <br /> Section 9.20 Zoning Districts. <br /> <br />c. No exterior evidence of the home occupation such as displays, exterior storage <br /> of business equipment, materials, merchandise, inventory or heavy equipment. <br /> <br />d.
