Mayor Ramsey said if Mr. Wells goes out of business, and the revolving loan fund cannot be
recuperated, the WAC and SAC fees are not paid.
Economic Development/Marketing Manager Backman indicated the fees are viewed differently
and the SAC fees are going out.
Councilmember McGlone expressed his concern with the Flaherty building going up with a
restaurant in it. He questioned if this would be a competing interest.
Mayor Ramsey stated the "first in" is considered first.
Councilmember Jeffrey agreed that the "first in" is considered first and Mr. Welts has a high
value target by serving three meals. Though there could be a competing interest, there is no
other building ready for consideration at this point.
Mr. Kuker indicated the architects can have plans ready in a week, and groundbreaking could
possibly begin this summer.
Mr. Wells noted his lease is up in April at his current operation, but he is allowed to rent month -
to- month until he moves.
FUTURE TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION
1) FUTURE TOPICS CALENDAR
MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT
None.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Commissioner Jeffrey, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, to close the City Council Work
Session
Motion carried.
The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 8:04 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
K r is G.
