This year the first three events were held on Saturday, <br />April 26, and the Bike Road-co was held on Saturday, May 3. The information below <br />provides a brief summary of activity related to each event. <br /> <br />Pet Clinic: <br /> <br />The 1997 Pet Clinic was held in the new Police Department garage from 8:00 a.m. to <br />1:00 p.m. Reduced cost vaccinations were provided by the AmVet Clinic of Elk River: <br />* 182 Canine Rabies <br />* 62 Feline Rabies <br />* 213 Canine DHLP-P <br />* 64 Feline Pan RC-C-P <br />The City received an administrative charge for each shot given. Total. administrative <br />charges mounted to $1,073. <br /> <br />City employees were on hand to sell pet licenses. They collected $1,053 in license fees <br />for 237 dog licenses and 63 cat licenses during the five-hour period. This compares with <br />266 dog licenses and 6I cat licenses sold during the 1996 Pet Clinic. <br /> <br />Recycling Day: <br /> <br />More than 100 residents attended the spring Recycling event which was held on the <br />parking lot in front of the Municipal Center from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Material collected <br />included: <br /> * 11,300 pounds of scrap metal <br /> * 3,140 pounds of trash <br /> * 196 passenger tires <br /> * 3 tractor tires <br /> * 65 major appliances <br /> * 40 fluorescent bulbs <br /> * used furniture for ACC.AP <br />Expenses, excluding the time of the Economic Development Coordinator to plan and staff <br />the event, amounted to $1,103.90; income amounted to $1,002.00. A detailed <br />breakdown is attached to this report. <br /> <br /> <br />
