PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COIVIlvIISSION <br />~ OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COIYNTY <br /> STATE OF lvIINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Plm'ming Commission conducted a public hearing on Monday, July 7, 1997, at the <br />Kamsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, l~mmesota to hear input <br />regarding a request for a conditional use permit to grade and export soils; case of Thomas Kurak. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commis~oner Bradley Thomd <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia l:rolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO OR.DER <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer reconvened the public hearing at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />PP. ESENTATION <br /> <br />It was noted that on March 11, 1997, Thomas Kurak submitted aa application to the City for a <br />conditional use permit to grade and export approximately g00,000 yards of soil from his property at <br />15001 Sunfish Lake Boulevard. On April 1, 1997, the Planning Commission conducted a public <br />hearing and City Staff'reported a number of deficiencies in the application submittals. The City <br />Attorney also reported that in his opinion, the size ofthe proposed project required an environmental <br />assessment wor~heet. The Planning Commission tabled action on the request and continued the <br />public hearing to the regular meeting in May. At the May 6, 1997 Plannin.' g Commission meeting, it <br />was reported that the requested information had not been provided so the Planning Commission <br />tabled act[on until the regular meeting in June. At the June 3, 1997 Planning Commission meeting, <br />the Commission ruled that the public hearing would reconvene and action would be taken on July I. <br />However, on July 1, 1997, the meeting was recessed due to power £~ilure caused by a severe weather <br />storm. <br /> <br />City Engineer Steve Iankowski reported that the applicant h~_q indicated that the ultimate deposition <br />of the subject property will be the development of residential housing.
