TIMESAVER <br /> <br />PAGE <br /> <br />In response to Lori Schultz, Mr. Kurak stated he will make no profit from the mining and all money <br />will go back into the final project. <br /> <br />Dick Anderson?, 15111 Sodium Street, stated they were aware this would be developed at some <br />point and they do not oppose progress but are concerned about why this project would take place <br />for mining only and not mining and development under one plan. He stated he believes the remaining <br />elevation will still be molded somewhat. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowsld explained the existing and proposed contour levels and need to excavate <br />for depth of 3 feet to create a sump to catch water temporarily until area is restored. Then the sump <br />is no longer needed and will be filled in. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson stated that in order to make a wise decision he hopes the Planning Commission will <br />request a preliminary development stage of what the end result will be when the property is divided <br />into parcels for residential development. <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer explained the mining process is included in the City Codes because of <br />the need for some regulation and control. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson asked what happens if Mr. Kurak does not complete the residential development. <br />Acting Chairman Deemer stated they will be lei with a flat pic~.,e of ground with grass on it. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson asked who will manage the project and assure adequate financing to complete if Mr. <br />Kurak does not do so. City Engineer Jankowsld stated the permit will be for a duration of three years <br />and only five acres will be disturbed at a time. Also a 4:1 minimum slope needs to be placed on the <br />final grades. <br /> <br />AD JOUIlaNM. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners Terry, LaDue, and <br />Thorud. Voting No: None.
