restoration, the estimated 2,200 feet, at $6.44 a foot, will cost $14,168. Staff is requesting a not-to-exceed total of $14,750. The funding source is the critical trail link allocation (EDA) of the 1997 CIP. "Cottonwood" Park A minimum of 4,655 feet will be required to circle the wetland (including the paralleling trail along County Road #i 16). In addition, links to Anoka Electric Cooperative (AEC) would add 1,580 feet (primarily benefiting AEC). An additional 990 feet will be required from AEC's drive to County Road #56. Cost with restoration would be $6.12 per lineal foot ($44,217). Up to 2,450 feet, or $3,283, may be required for fabric. The funding source for this paving would be the EDA at $40,000 and a $10,000 contribution from AEC. Given that a portion of this property adjacent to Sunwood Drive is expected to be reshaped for a future development project, a portion of the project budget may not be utilized during 1997. Alternatively, this reshaping may create a need for boardwalk construction within the southeastern portion of the trail project. Should this need to occur, that portion of the project will be revisited by Council. Council Action: Motion to award bids for the following: I53rd Avenue project at a not-to-exceed cost of $5,500, contingent upon receiving authorization to proceed with the landowner and- Ramsey Elementary to Sunwood Project at a not-to-exceed cost of $14,750 - and- Lake Itasca Project at a not-to-exceed cost of $30,000 - and - "Cottonwood" Park Project at a not-to-exceed cost of $40,000 for the City portion, and $10,000 for the AEC portion should AEC wish to provide funding for that segment.
