Three
are in the Southeast quadrant of the City and are generally in close proximity to each other. The
Lake Itasca project is in the west portion of Ramsey near Highway #10. Sealed bids must be
received by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 1997, at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen Blvd.
NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. The envelope should be marked "Trail Paving Bids" and
contain a 5% bid bond (or cashiers check) of the total project cost.

The City intends on immediate construction of each project during the 1997 paving season,
provided that bids are within the amount allocated to the individual projects. The attached forms
(site maps accompany each form) should be returned with the cost per linear foot indicated along
with any additional costs or notations relative to the project(s). The following is additional
information that should guide the preparation of your bid:

· Some preference may be given to contractors that bid on each project and/or have
earlier completion dates.
· Each project should be bid by linear foot. The completed surface will be measured to
determine the specific cost.
· Restoration for purposes of these bids shall consist of blading available topsoil up to
the finished pavement and seeding with Mn/DOT 600 mix at 150 lbs. per acre or
approved equal grass mixture.
All sites are sandy soils.
· The exact placement of the trail surface will be staked with the successful contractor
when the project is scheduled to begin.
· Bidders are encouraged to meet with the Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos to
discuss the project(s) on site. It is possible a scheduled time for this walk-through
may be chosen for all bidders.
· The contractor is responsible for obtaining the permit from the County for any work
in Anoka County's fight-of-way.
Bidders are also encouraged to submit a time and materials quote for misc. minor trail
patching (gopher runs, small potholes) which may occur separate from these projects.

~colleen/corresp/markb/1997/parks/rfp5 tral.doc
