We, the residents of the City of Ramsey on and around 149th Avenue Northwest, have signed this petition to request the City of Ramsey resolve a major traffic issue on our street. We wish to enlist the City's support and resources to build a cul de sac at the ~d of 149th Avenue and Uranimite Street. Our primary concerns involve the amount of through traffic from Ramsey Boulevard to Armstrong Boulevard, and the excessive speed at which these vehicles travel. The average speed is well in excess of the posted 30 m.p.h. There are several families with young children whose primary physical well-being are at risk with this traffic. We also have seen private property that has been damaged due to the excessive speed and reckless driving of these vehicles. Our previous efforts to enlist help from the City's Police Department, Mayor and Council over the past two years has not reduced the amount of traffic and the excessive speed as of July 8th, 1997. Therefore, we as neighbors and residents of the City of Ramsey submit this petition to respectfully request that a cul de sac be installed as stated above. We are fully aware there would be cost to us as primary residents. We would like the request to be fulfilled before the start of the I997-98 school year.
