2002 PARK IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Lake Itasca Park Phase II <br /> <br />$72,000 <br /> <br />This year of the CIP would see continued development of Lake Itasca Park as a community park. <br />Certainly a playground and shelter should be considered early in the park's development. <br /> <br />Community Park No. 5 Soccer Improvements <br /> <br />Unknown <br /> <br />The Northern Lights Soccer Association (previously a division of the Ramsey Youth Athletic <br />Association [RYAA]) informed the City of their interest in pursuing soccer field development <br />via grants to their association. Especially given the topography of this park, soccer field <br />development would be economical. Please see narrative for the years 1999 and 2003. <br /> <br />2003 PARK IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Community Center Construction Bond <br /> <br />To be determined <br /> <br />Recently the Park and Recreation Commission has been examining the need for a community <br />center within Ramsey. It's proposed location on Highway #10 and in relation to the Mississippi <br />West Regional Park have benefits over other sites discussed. Partnerships, perhaps with Anoka <br />County Parks or Ramsey's business community will need to be explored in conjunction with this <br />issue. <br /> <br />Irrigate Soccer Fields - Community Park No. 5 <br /> <br />$78,000 <br /> <br />Irrigation is important in athletic complexes to ensure safe and aesthetically pleasing play as well <br />as maintaining grass under intense use. <br /> <br /> <br />
