During discussions with the Council, it appears that there may be diffehng expectations <br />of what a CSO would do. This <br />represents the midpoint of the Stanton Group Six average for part-time CS Os, plus 3%. <br /> <br />Staff recommends that Council: <br />a) ,4uthorize creation of a half-time Commu~tity Service Officer ;position, <br />effective <br /> January l, 1998; <br />b) Establish a beginning gay rate of $10.44 per hour for the part-time CSO <br />position. <br /> <br />The Community Service Officer position is in addition to the additional Patrol Officer <br />who will be hired in December of 1997 with the assistance of a federal grant. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES <br />Technically, the City .~dministrator position also includes City Clerk duties. In reality, <br />the City Clerk duties have been performed by the Recording Secretary for several years. <br />These include handling voter registration, coordinating elections, preparing Council <br />agendas and minutes, and being responsible for publication of official notices.
