Below the sand layer, there shall be at least one layer of soil, either natural or fill, at least 12 inches thick, wbfich has a percolation rate slower than 5 m~nutes' per inch (loamy sand). 5. Wherever possible, mounds shall be located on fiat areas or crest of slopes. Mounds shall not be located on natural slopes of more than 3go if the percolation rate is slower than 60 nzinutes per inch to a depth of at least 24 inches below the sand layer. 6. Mounds shm]l not be located on slopes exceeding 6.% if the soil percolation rate is slower than 30 minutes per inch to a depth of at least 24 inches below the sand layer. 7. Mounds shall not be located on natural slopes exceeding 12% under m~y soil percolation rate conditions. 8. The bottom area of the filter material shall be sized on the basis of 200 square feet per bedroom or 0.83 square feet per gallon of waste per day. 9. In no case shall the width' of the filter material in a single bed exceed 10 feet. 10. A rubber tired tractor may be used for plo',-zing or dis]~ng, but in no case shall a rubber tired tractor be used after the surface preparation is completed, k crawler or track-type tractor shall be used for mo-nd construction where the soil percolation rate is slower than 15 m~nutes per inch. 11. The discharge pipe from the pump to the mound area shall be instal]ed, prior to soil surface preparation. The trench shall be carefully backfilled and compacted to prevent seepage of effluent. 12.
