introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #97-10- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF DEAN K. KAPLER TO THE <br />POSITION OF ]FIRE CHIEF/DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on September 15, 1997, the Ramsey City Council approved creation of a <br />full-time Fire Chief position, effective January 1, 1998; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the newly created Fire Chief would also be responsible for supervising the <br />Streets and Parks/Utilities divisions of Public Works for at least three years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the position was posted internally for a period of two weeks and one <br />application was received; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant, Dean K. Kapler, successfully completed an interview with a <br />majority of the City Council on October 13; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That Dean K. Kapler be appointed to the position of Fire Chief/Director of Public Works, <br /> effective on or after January 1, 1998, at an annual salary of $51,000. <br /> <br />2) That Dean K. Kapler serve a one-year probationary period with performance reviews at <br />six and twelve months. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 14th day of October, 1997. <br /> <br /> <br />
