September 22, 1997 <br /> <br />Ms. Linda Waite-Smith <br />Administrative Services Manager <br />City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Ms. Waite-Smith, <br /> <br />Please accept this letter as an introduction for application for the position of Fire Chief/Public <br />Works Director. My employment history with both the city of Ramsey and Dana Corporation has <br />combined to give me a strong background in areas such as resource management, budget <br />development/proposal/compliance, team building/group dynamics, problem solving/decision <br />making and customer service. <br /> <br />In reviewing the job description, I feel my education and training should provide a valuable base to <br />build from in managing these two departments within the city structure. In my six years as Fire <br />Chief and Assistant Fire Chief I have been involved with and promoted future planning to provide <br />the growing city of Ramsey with a level of service the citizens expect and can count on. <br /> <br />In summary, I feel I have the background, education, training and energies to make this position a <br />success and true asset to the city of Ramsey. Being able to utilize my skills in the planning, <br />developing and managing of the services provided by the Fire and Public Works departments <br />would be exciting and very gratifying to me. <br /> <br />Thank you for considering me for this position.
