January 13, 1997

14051 Fluorine Avenue NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

Linda Waite Smith
Administrative Service Manager
15153 Nowthen Blvd N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

Re: Letter of application for Charter Commission

Dear Ms. Waite Smith,

I am writing this letter of application to apply for a position on the Charter Commission.
My family and I recently moved from Bloomington, MN to what we consider a wonderful
neighborhood. I would be happy to serve on this commission to review terms of elected
officials, organizational structure of the city or other important tasks.

My name is Timothy M. Vogt. I live at 14051 Fluorine Avenue NW, Ramsey, MN 55303.
My home phone number is 506-0864 and my pager number is 350-9203. I graduated from
Southwest State University in Marshall with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Science. I will be completing my Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from
the University of St. Thomas in the Fall of 1997.

I have worked in the computer field supporting hardware and software in various
companies since finishing my undergraduate degree. The companies that I have worked
for from oldest to newest are Springboard Software, PCM Systems, MECC (Minnesota
Educational Computing Corporation) and Spanlink Communications. I am a Manager of
Technical Support at Spanlink Communications where I have been for six months. In
Bloomington, my wife and I spent time working with the City of Bloomington to help cut
down on noise in our neighborhood. We attended block meetings for safety, new park and
other related issues as needed.

I am interested in helping keep Ramsey a vibrant but safe city so our children will have a
great place to grow up. The need to have public issues open for discussion is what makes
the United States such a great country to live in. My neighborhood is important to me so
anyway that I can help will make me feel good inside. I look forward to hearing from you!

B~J/rega~s,,~

Timothy 1~,I.
