Detail Tool & Engineering Provides First Donation to
Community Resource Partnership Program

The City of Rasmey is proud to annouce that a local Company, Detail Tool and Engineering, is the tn:st
donor to the Anoka-Hennepin Technical College (AHTC) Community Resource Partnership program. The
donantion of $6,000 will be used by AHTC to continue the development of user friendly education programs in
machine tooling. The Resource Partnership program asks businesses and industries to donate $2,000 for every
recently hired AHTC graduate. In the last year, Detail Too1 and Engineering has hired one new AHTC graduate
and has hired five graduates from the the metal working program.

Richard A. Nelson, President of Detail Tooling and Engineering, in presenting the check stated, "I don't
feel I have a lot to bring to the "party" because we are very small, However, we have raised quite a crop of
good employees from this facility (AHTC) over the years. It is a payback for me to give this money to the
college. As a former Dunwoody Instuitute graduate, I am a firm believer in technical education - it's narrowly
focused to employment. I have an obligation to train a person, but I want that someone to be trainable. I have
found AHTC graduates fit that description."

Detail Tool and Engineering builds palastic molds for large corporations such as 3M, ADC Telecommuni-
cations and IBM in addition to the traditional job shop work. The company developed its new facility located
in the City of Ramsay in 1995, and has been in existance for over 20 years and currently employees 18 people.
"This is an exceilant example of the partnerships that education and industry need to develop to sustain for the
long term future of technical eduction and econmoic growth in our area," commented Cliff Korkowski,
t~resident of AHTC.

Business Appreciation Day Scheduled

The City has proclaimed Wednesday, August 20, 1997, as Business Appreciation Day in the City of Ramsey. You are
cordially invited to Rum River Hills Golf Course to participate in the Ninth Annual Business Appreciation Day. This
tournament will be a best ball scramble tournament which will allow for all levels of golfers to participate and have
fun. The event is sponsored by the City of Ramsey and the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce. Sixty-five Dollars
($65.00) per individual covers the full day's activities and a chance at door prizes.
