The City of Ramsey has issued licenses for motor vehicle sales/repairs during the past several <br />years as follows: <br /> <br />1991 21 $25.00 per year <br />1992 19 $25.00 per year <br />1993 23 $25.00 per year <br />1994 18 $100.00 per year <br />1995. 23 $100.00 per year <br />1996 6 (as of 1/4/96) $500.00 per year <br /> <br />The t996 budget as adopted did not incorporate this fee increase specifically (although fee <br />revenue generally relies upon the October t 995 Council action) and thus does not rely on the <br />increase amount for support. However, we have been expending increasing amounts of staff <br />time due to vehicle sales and repair activities and complaints. This fee increase was intended to <br />provide for this increased activity. <br /> <br />As an aside, included in the projects for the Administrative Services Manager is a thorough <br />review of Chapter 7 of the City Code which regulates business licensing. It is anticipated that <br />this review will incorporate all aspects of licensing, including fees.
