I
!

CASE

AUTHORIZE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR ARTICULATED LOADER
WITH SNOW PLOW, WING
By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer

Background:

Included in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget is $110,000 for the purchase of one 3-yard,
articulated loader with snow plow, wing and sander. This amount is net of an anticipated trade in
value of $20,000. This purchase is a replacement for unit g605, a 1980 Fiat-Allis loader.

Due to the dollar value of this purchase (over $25,000) State bidding laws require that the sealed
bid process be followed. Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen is in the process of preparing
specifications for a new loader. As of the writing of this case the specifications were not available.
If they are completed prior to the meeting, they will be handed out at that time.

As with any purahase or project that must comply with the bidding laws, Staff will bring back to
the Committee a recommendation once the bids are received and tallied.

Staff Recommendation:

Committee approval of the advertisement of bids for one 3-yard, articulated loader with snow
plow, wing and sander.
Commi tteeA ctions: ~ /"~~/~~'~v~~A~d
Motion to recommend Council ertisement of Bids for 3-Yard,
Articulated Loader With Snow

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Finance Officer
City Engineer
Public Works Supervisor

FC: 1/23/96
