I <br /> <br /># g <br /> <br />DESIGNATION OF UNALLOCATED 1995 AND 1996 COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS <br /> By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On January 23, 1996, the City Council conducted a public hearing regarding the use of 1996 <br />CDBG funds ($34,769.00) and unallocated 1995 CDBG funds ($4,0009.00). <br /> <br />Staff informed Council, that due to a modification in the administrative procedures at the County <br />level, Ramsey is not currently guaranteed that its 1996 allocation will be available for use in the <br />1996 project year. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman and Peterson were appointed to a CDBG subcommitte to <br />review the requests for CDBG funds. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />That subcommittee met on February 8 to review the requests for funding which included the <br />following: <br /> <br />Northwest Suburban Kinship <br />Nucleus Oinic <br />Meals on Wheels <br />Commuity Emergency Assistance Program <br /> <br />Alexandra House <br />ACCAP Senior Outreach <br /> <br />$500.00 <br />$2,200.00 <br />$3,733.O0 <br />$2,00O.00 <br />$3,000.00 <br />$2,5O0.OO <br />$2,219.00 <br /> <br />Staff also reported that there is one Ramsey home on the Anoka County Community Action <br />Program (ACCAP) waiting list for housing rehabilitation. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Council subcommittee is recommending that the unallocated 1995 CDBG funds be designated <br />to ACCAP for the rehabilitation of a Ramsey home and that the 1996 allocation be roiled over for a <br />possible project in 1997. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to: I,x~J/~ . · <br />Adopt Resolution g96-021~_"a'designating unallocated 1995 funds to the ACCAP Housing <br />Rehabilitation Program for specific use on a Ramsey home and rolling over the 1996 <br />allocation for use in 1997. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />CC: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />2/13/96 <br /> <br /> <br />
