! <br />! <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 CORRIDOR STUDY PROJECT <br /> By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Since October of 1995, the City has been working with the SRF Consulting Group, Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation, and Anoka County Highway Department to prepare an access and <br />corridor study for the segment of Trunk Highway #47 from the Anoka City Limits to 167th <br />Avenue. At this time a preliminary draft of the study has been prepared. This study documents <br />the extent of safety problems and roadway deficiencies along the study corridor and recommends <br />improvements to mitigate these problems. The study also includes an evaluation of existing <br />access conditions and future access needs. A public information meeting was held on January <br />17, 1996 to obtain citizen input on the study. A draft report summarizes the major concerns <br />expressed at that meeting and has included a response section in the report. <br /> <br />At this <br /> · <br /> <br /> · <br /> <br /> time, I would proposed that the City take the following steps to finalize the study: <br /> Accept the draft report to the City Council for review (under separate cover). <br /> Make the draft report available at City Hall and the local library for a period of thirty (30) <br /> days for public review. <br />· Notify the property owners adjacent to the study area of the availability of the project <br /> report. <br />· Transmit the report to Mn/DOT and Anoka County Highway Dept. for formal comment. <br />· Schedule a formal/pre/s~Jfil~tioxn by the consultant and formal public hearing before the <br /> City Council at the~'~~ ~996 meeting. ~~ <br />· Direct any changes a~'a_.r_~sul_~6fthe public hearing. <br />· Adopt corridor study in April 1996. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to accept draft report. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />CC:02/27/96 <br />/ccr <br /> <br /> <br />
