Case #4: 1996 Business EXPO. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gromberg informed the EDC that the Ramsey Lions are once again interested in.combining the <br /> community picnic and Business EXPO. They will be having a planning meeting in the near future. The <br /> Commission should plan on having the chairperson year's event attend meeting. <br /> of this <br /> the <br /> <br /> Motion by Commissioner Kent and seconded by Chairperson Wagner to elect Commissioner Nelson as <br /> the of the 1996 Business EXPO. <br /> chairperson <br /> <br /> Motion carried, Voting Yes: Chairperson Wagner, Commissioners Kent and Stafki. Voting No: None. <br /> Absent: Commissioners Nelson, McGhee and Ullen. <br /> <br /> Case #5: 1996 Business Appreciation Day. <br /> <br /> The Commission tabled this item until the bids have been received from both local golf courses. <br /> <br /> Case #6: Comprehensive Plan Review. <br /> <br /> At the December meeting of the EDC, Commission members were asked for their comments. The <br /> Commissioners discussed the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br /> Motion by Chairperson Wagner and seconded by Commissioner Stafki that the Commission would not <br /> make a recommendation concerning the draft of the Comprehensive Plan, but that the plan should be <br /> reviewed on an annual basis to allow for its continued updating and reflection of the current trends in the <br /> local development. Additionally, the City Council should review the way in which these reviews are <br /> conducted to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Wagner, Commissioners Kent and Stafki. Voting No: None. <br /> Absent: Commissioners Nelson, McGhee and Ullen. <br /> <br /> Chairperson Wagner requested that Mr. Gromberg send a memorandum to the City Council outlining the <br /> Commission's position concerning the Comprehensive Plan. The memorandum should also remind <br /> Council that the Commission will be reviewing the ratio of commercial/industrial property to single <br /> family property and the Highway #10 corridor development. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> Motion by Commissioner Stafki and seconded by Commissioner Kent to adjourn the meeting of the <br /> Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br /> Motion carried.
