Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: I RESOLUTION 496 -03 -_ RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S 1997 BUDGET CALENDAR WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Charter states that a budget calendar shall be established annually by resolution; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey's Finance Committee recommends the Council adopt ■ the following calendar: February 5 Finance Officer to distribute forms for 1997/1998 staffing and capital outlay requests to Department Heads and supervisors. February 16 Department Heads and supervisors submit staffing and capital outlay requests for 1997/1998 to Finance Officer and City Administrator. ' February 20 Finance Officer summarizes staffing and capital outlay requests for 1997/1998 and distributes to Department Heads and supervisors. February 21 -22 Initial budget work sessions with Department Heads and supervisors to review 1997/1998 staffing and capital outlay requests. Ballots for 1997/1998 capital outlay requests distributed to Department Heads and supervisors for voting and ranking of all departmental requests ' for 1997/1998. February 27 Ballots for 1997/1998 capital outlay requests to be returned to the Finance Officer. March 26 Council adopts the 1997 Budget Calendar. April 8 Budget work session with Department Heads and supervisors to discuss I outcome of voting on 1997/1998 capital requests. May 15 Finance Officer to distribute 1997 Cost Center Budget Worksheets to Department Heads and supervisors. Worksheets include actual expenditures for 1994, 1995, 1996 year -to -date and adopted 1996 budget. Finance Officer to distribute listing of fixed assets as of December 31, 1995 with Replacement Fund requirements as of December 31, 1995 to Department Heads and supervisors for review including item existence, accuracy, replacement values and number of years remaining in useful life. r
