Schroeder
Background:
At their February 13, 1996 meeting, Council was presented with a request from the Charter
Commission to introduce, and finally adopt, an ordinance changing the mayor's term from two
years to four years commencing with the election year 2000. This proposed amendment has been
discussed at length among the Charter Commission members.
City Council reviewed the proposed ordinance and determined that, prior to introduction, public
input should be received.
