' ORDINANCE #96 -XX <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 2 OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE <br />' CITY OF RAMSEY WHICH CHAPTER 2 IS ENTITLED "FORM OF <br />GOVERNMENT" <br />The City of Ramsey Ordains: <br />' SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br />' This Ordinance is enacted pursuant to Minnesota Statutes §410.12, Subd. 7. <br />SECTION 2. SUMMARY <br />' The following official summary of Ordinance #96 -XX has been approved by the City <br />Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the <br />ordinance: <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #96-XX to amend the term limit for mayor from two <br />years to fout years commencing with the election in the year 2000. <br />SECTION 3. AMENDMENT <br />Section 2.3, of Chapter 2 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Ramsey is hereby <br />' amended to read: <br />Section 2.3. Council Composition and Election. The council <br />shall be composed of a mayor and four couneilmembers who shall be <br />qualified electors and who shall be elected at large. Councilmembers shall <br />serve for a term of four years and/or until a successor is elected and <br />qualifies. The mayor shall serve for a term of two years and/or until a <br />successor is elected and qualifies. Commencing with the election in the year <br />2000, the mayor shall serve for a term of four years and/or until a successor <br />is elected and qualifies. <br />SECTION 4.
