Because of the desire to have this capacity available for the peak demand days of the
lawn sprinkling season, I had proposed that the work be separated into two contracts, one for the
pump work and ~e other for the electrical work. Well work of this nature is sometimes done in
this manner;, whieh allows for the more expeditious process of soliciting quotation on the work,
rather than sealed~bids. The City Attorney, however, advised that sealed bids should be taken.
Subsequently, bi~ were properly advertised and will be opened on Friday, May 10, 1996.

Recommendation:

To be provided at the meeting.
Council Action: .~.
Motion to adopt Resolution ~/:96-05-. awarding contract for Improvement Project ~96-19.

Reviewed by:

City Engineer
City Administrator
City Attorney
Finance Officer
Parks/Utilities Supervisor

CC: 05/14/96
