Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #96-05-_ RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ~96-19 (UPGRADE OF WELL NO. 1) WHEREAS, the City Council authorized, by motion on March 26, 1996, the preparation of plans and spec~cations for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the upgrading of Well No. 1, bids were received, opened on May 10, 1996, and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: Bidder E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. Mark J. Traut Wells, Inc. Engineer's Estimate Amount of Bid $37,274.60 39,998.00 40,000.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the upgading of Well No. 1 in the amount of $37,274.60. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposi~ made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember. . and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 14th day of May, 1996.
