RR) <br /> <br />WINTER STREET SAFETY: DO YOUR PART! <br /> <br />Ramsey workers and residents must share the road and share the responsibility of <br />maintainirig safe conditions on Ramsey's streets and roadways. Citizens play an important <br />role in the effectiveness of snow removal operations. <br /> <br />City code and parking <br /> <br />· Parking is not allowed on streets after a snowfall of 2 inches. Cars parked on <br /> unplowed roads will be tagged and towed at the owner's expense. <br /> <br />~now removal reauirements <br /> <br />· Driveway entrances must be cleared by the property owner. It is unlawful to shovel, <br /> blow, or plow snow or ice onto the street from private property. <br /> <br />Trash Containers <br /> <br />· Trash and recycling containers need to be accessible for pick-up but kept off the street <br /> to allow snow removal. <br /> <br />Mailboxes must be cleared of snow. A mailbox damaged during snow removal will not <br />be authorized for repair unless there is actual physical evidence it was struck by a City <br />snow r6moval vehicle. Residents are responsible for repairs to mailboxes that are <br />tipped or knocked over due to the weight of plowed snow. <br /> <br />Bolll,~vards <br /> <br />The City prohibits encroachment on boulevards or right-of-ways by such items as <br />fences, retaining walls, timbers, posts, landscaping, sprinkler systems, and rocks. <br />Any iterp damaged as a result of snow removal, including damage caused to snow <br />plowing~equipment, will be the responsibility of the property owner. <br /> <br />Emergenc~ Situations <br /> <br />Requests for emergency service should be directed through 911. City Police will <br />contact Snow removal personnel directly to coordinate plowing for an emergency <br />situation. <br /> <br />The City will remove snow from around fire hydrants as time permits after <br />accumulaJions become significant.
