PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Pe~rsonnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 9, <br />1996, at the ll. amsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at <br />6:09 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Courtcilmember Beahen and seconded by Mayor Hardin to approve the agenda <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case gl: Request for Reassignment <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that Linda Mayer, Accounting Clerk in the Finance <br />Office, has requested elimination of minute taking for the Park and Recreation <br />Commission. ?a. is has been discussed and he listed some of the options as follows: make <br />no change, rotate staff through the minute taking role through this and perhaps other <br />Commissions to promote cross training, assign Park Commission minutes to a different <br />staff person if ilo volunteers are available, upon a resignation or hiring of a new position <br />within the clerioal positions - attempt to gain an employee for minutes at that time, change <br />minute assignments so that the persons responsible for Park and Planning minutes <br />exchange Commissions, share the task of minutes with this and perhaps other <br />Commissions with more than one person so that instead of a commitment for 12 evenings <br />per year - this commitment drops to six, direct that the technical staff for the Park <br />Commission take the minutes. Mr. Schroeder pointed out that in the recommendations, he <br />stated he wouldask for volunteers in the Administrative Services Department. He had not <br />yet asked for a volunteer from another department. He commented that unless the <br />Personnel Comfixittee directs him to ask the people in another department, he would prefer <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/January 9, 1996 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
