END PROBATIONARY PERIOD OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES MANAGER <br />LINDA WAITE SMITH <br /> By: Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Linda Waite Smith ~sumed the position of Administrative Services Manager on December 18, <br />1996, and her six-month probationary period ends June 18, 1996. On May 30, 1996, I did an <br />employee performance appraisal for Ms. Waite Smith and rated her performance satisfactory. <br /> <br />Ms. Waite Smith and ii also developed a list of goals for the next twelve months, including: <br /> <br />* Implementing the Human Resource Information System which is part of our new <br /> computer system; <br />* Following up on the January 1996 Teambuilding Retreat of Mayor/Council/Department <br /> Heads; <br />* Assuming responsibility for supervising Administrative Services staff; <br />* Preparing a procedures manual for personnel activities; <br />* Reviewing parsonnel policies, labor contracts, and work rules and recommending <br /> changes as n~essary to ensure consistency among them; <br />* Developing a database of resources for external communications and a program for <br /> disseminating_information about the City's activities; <br />* Completing a review of the Licensing Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Based on a satisfactory six-month appraisal of her performance, I recommend that <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith be retained as a regular, full-time <br />employee, effective Jun, 18, 1996. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend approval of the attached resolution ending the probationary period for <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith and granting her the status of regular, full- <br />time employee, effective June 18, 1996. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />CC 06/11/96 <br /> <br /> <br />
