commonly known as the "Joint Powers Act," in order to <br /> <br />accomplish the foregoing purposes, agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. ~Construction of Interconnections. Anoka and Ramsey <br /> <br />shall and have constructed two interconnections between the <br /> <br />Anoka municipal water system and the Ramsey municipal water <br /> <br />system, as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Highway 10 Connection. A permanent <br />connection located at the Anoka/Ramsey boundary on <br />the~North side of Highway 10 which consists of <br />water main, a manhole, a back flow preventer, <br />water meter, and valves and fittings. The purpose <br />of this connection is to provide a supplemental <br />source to Ramsey and an emergency water supply to <br />Ramsey in the event of a water main break or <br />interruption of Ramsey's water supply. <br /> <br />(b) County Road #ll6/Thurston Avenue Connection. <br />A connection at the Southeast corner of the <br />intersection of County Road ~116 and Thurston <br />Avenue. This connection is temporary in nature <br />and has been accomplished by the connection of <br />fitbings and a hose line between two fire <br />hydrants. Water drawn at this location will be <br />for ~emergency use only. The connection contains <br />backflow preventer and meter. <br /> <br />2. Dwnership of Highway 10 Connection Equipment. <br /> <br />Anoka shall own all equipment East of the metering manhole <br />and within the City of Anoka, and shall own and maintain the <br /> <br />meter within the metering manhole and have access to the <br /> <br />meter. Ramsey shall own and maintain the metering manhole <br /> <br />and all equipment West of the manhole and within the City of <br />Ramsey. All water flow through this connection shall be <br />from Anoka to Ramsey and the one-way flow is insured by a <br /> <br />doublecheck backflow preventer owned and maintained by the <br /> <br />City of Ramsey. Ail equipment has been purchased and <br />installed by the City of Ramsey, and the City of Anoka has <br /> <br /> <br />
