I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />RECEIVE BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACT FOR <br />iMPROVEMENT PROJECT #96-17 (THE EXTENSION OF <br />MCKINLEY STREET 1,000 FEET EAST OF URANIUM STREET) <br />By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />CASE #:~ <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Improvement Project #96-17 involves the construction of a 1,000 foot extension of McKinley <br />Street east of Uranium Street. This street extension will provide access to Automated EDM as <br />well as marketable commercial and industrial property extending to the Ramsey/Anoka city <br />limits. In addition to street improvements, this project will also include a sanitary sewer <br />extension, the creation of a watermain loop which will provide a second feed to the service area <br />south of Highway # 10, and the construction of a regional storm water detention pond. <br /> <br />The City Council ordered preparation of the plans and specifications on January 23, 1996, and <br />the solicitation 0fbids on May 28, 1996. Bids were opened on Friday, June 28th.
