Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #96-08-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR ACCEPTANCE OF <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COUNCIL GRANT AND PURCHASE OF <br />AUTOMATICI DEFIBRILLATOR DEVICE AND TRAINING FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Finance Committee meeting of August 27, 1996, staff presented a <br />request for the acceptance of an EMS Council Grant for the purchase of an automatic <br />defibrillator device and training for the Police Department; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the receipt of the grant and related expenditures were not originally <br />authorized in the:1996 Adopted General Fund Budget; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the grant covers all costs associated with the initial purchase and training <br />as well as the required first year replacement funding; and <br /> <br /> WHEREhS, the automatic defibrillator device can be supplied by EMP of Minneapolis, <br />Minnesota for a t~)tal cost of $3,384.86; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the training for use of the automatic defibrillator device will be provided <br />by the City of Anoka for a total cost of $210.00. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the R~amsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment increasing Police <br />Department Capital Outlay by $3,384.86; Training by $210.00; and Transfers to Other <br />Funds by $338.49. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Rg~ msey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment increasing 1996 <br />General Fund Revenues by $3,933.35 for acceptance of the EMS Council grant. <br /> <br />3) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of an automatic <br /> defibrillator device from EMP of Minneapolis, Minnesota, for a cost of $3,384.86. <br /> <br />4) That the R~rnsey City Council hereby authorizes scheduling of training for the use of the <br /> automatic defibrillator device through the City of Anoka at a cost of $210.00. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> <br />
