Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #96-08-. ;~)?/_~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />PHONE SYSTEM FROM CENTRAL TELE-SYSTEMS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Finance Committee meeting of August 27, 1996. staff presented a <br />request to replace the existing phone system at the Municipal Center in conjunction with the <br />installation of a new phone system at the Police Facility; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it was known that the purchase of both systems could not exceed $25,000 <br />so requests for quotes were solicited; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Company <br /> <br />Phone System <br /> <br />Voice Mail <br /> <br />Data Wiring [PD] <br /> <br />Central Tele-Systems $20,045 $5,995 $4,159 <br />AT&T $24,305 $7,270 $4,351 <br />Apollo Communications $27,626 $7,113 $5,391 <br />MITEL Systems $28,303 N/A $4,737 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the funding of such a purchase was not included in the Adopted 1996 <br />General Fund Budget and only a portion funded in the police facility construction account; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is available from the Equipment Replacement Fund, $9,400 from the <br />current system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the funding for the systems could be achieved through a budget <br />amendment and allocation of the purchase to both the General Fund and the police facility <br />construction account as follows: <br /> <br />General Fund <br /> <br />Police Facility Account <br /> <br />Phone System <br />Less: Amount Available from <br />Equipment Replacement Fund <br />Data Communications Wiring <br />Voice Mail <br />After Hours Buzzer - Police <br />911 Call Box - Police <br />Loud Bell - Fire Department <br /> Net Funding Required <br /> <br />$14,633 <br /> <br /> (6,800) <br />N/A <br />4,376 <br />N/A <br />N/A <br />11.9 <br />$12,328 <br /> <br />$5,412 <br /> <br />(2,600) <br /> 4,159 <br /> 1,619 <br /> 285 <br /> 270 <br /> N/A <br />$9,145 <br /> <br /> <br />
