Residents who live along and use TH 47 <br />have expressed concern about safety problems along the roadway. These <br />safety concerns are related to intersection geometrics and operation, poor <br />horizontal and vertical sight distances, and overall traffic congestion and safety, <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The proposed roadway and traffic signal improvements described in this local <br />initiatives project request is needed to accommodate the existing and future <br />traffic volumes in this area and to provide better safety and traffic operations <br />along TH 47. <br /> <br />! <br />I <br /> <br />EXISTING CONDITIONS <br /> <br />The project limits include TH 47 from north of County Road 116 to north of <br />CSAHS, South of 142nd Avenue NW, TH 47 is heavily urbanized. <br />Development is primarily commercial to the south of CSAH 5 and residential to <br />the north, <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
