Larry Erb - 3 - September 6, 1996 <br /> <br />A traffic operations analysis was then conducted for the two key intersections <br />using existing am and p.m. peak hour turning movements with proposed <br />geometrics and traffic signal control. Results indicate that the intersection of <br />TH 4'7 and 142nd Avenue NW improves to Level of Service A during the am and <br />p.m. peak hour, The intersection of TH 47 and CSAH 5 continues to operate at <br />Level of Service B during the am and p.m. peak hours. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL WARRANT ANALYSIS <br /> <br />A traffic signal warrant analysis was conducted to determine the need for traffic <br />signals at the intersections of TH 47 and 142nd Avenue, and at CSAH 5, These <br />analyses were conducted using 16 hour approach volumes taken in July 1996 <br />(see Appendix), and proposed roadway geometdcs. -.. <br /> <br />Based on the signal warrants analysis, installation of traffic signal co'ntrol is <br />warranted at the TH 47 and 142nd Avenue NW intersection by satisfying the <br />following signal warrants of the Mn/MUTCD: Warrant 2-Interruption of <br />Continuous Traffic Warrant, Warrant 9--Four Hour Volume Warrant, and <br />Warrant 11--Peak Hour Volume Warrant (see Appendix). <br /> <br />Based on the signal analysis, installation of traffic signal control is warranted at <br />the TH 47 and CSAH 5 intersection by satisfying the following signal warrants of <br />the Mn.MUTCD: Warrant 1--Minimum Vehicular Volume Warrant, Warrant 2-- <br />Interruption of Continuous Traffic Warrant, Warrant 8-Combination of Warrants <br />1 and 2, Warrant 9-Four Hour Volume Warrant, and Warrant 11--Peak Hour <br />Volume Warrant (see Appendix). <br /> <br />ACCIDENT ANALYSIS <br /> <br />An accident analysis was conducted to determine the number of accidents <br />currently occurring at the two key intersections.
