Chairperson Bawden asked what the other signs were advertising. Ms. Frolik stated that the other <br />two signs were advertisements for the Dubats Building and the occupants of the building. <br /> <br />Ccanmissioner Holland questioned ifHolm's Super Bowl, me. could be incorporated into the existing <br />Dtabat's signs. Ms. ~FrolJ_k explained that Mr. Dubat's signs were located on R/verdale Drive. <br /> <br />[-',ommiss/oner Deemer stated th,at when the original sign was put in place, there was no structure on <br />the lot. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen asked if there was an existing sign located on the sight. Mr. Holm explained <br />that there was a neon tight located on the building that was not visible to Highway #10. Mr. Holm <br />stated that he was aware that this request was pr~xlent setting, but he felt thai they needed exposure <br />to Highway # 10 to attract a better clientele. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik asked ifa 25 foot sign would be vis~ble from Highway #10. Mr. Holm explained that it <br />would not. Ms. ~Frolik asked how high the sign would have to be for visibility from H_ighway #10. <br />Commissioner Holland asked how high the sign could be according to City Code. Ms. Frolik <br />ex-pla/ned that the sign could be 25 feet in height and the building structure could be 35 feet in height. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thorud asked how the old sign would compare in size to the new sign being proposed. <br />Ms. Frolik stated that she did not have that information at this time. Mr. Holm distributed a drawing <br />oft. he new sign, and estimated that the old sign was approxSrnately 95'square feet. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer explained that the property immed/ately west of I-Iolm's Super Bowl, Inc., will <br />be developed into a commercial shopping center. He suggested incorporating into the shopping <br />cente~ ~gr~ as it would be a better location. Commissioner Deemer stated that he was reluctant to <br />put the sign on the Dubat's property, in consideration of City Staff's recommendation. Ms. Frolik <br />explained that by incorporating I4nlm's Super Bowl, Inc, into the shopping center sign, the Planning <br />Commission would be approving off-site advertising. <br /> <br />Mr. Holm stated that he polled the commercial and residential neighbors, and there were no <br />objections. He added that he would like to be a good neighbor. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission proceeded to review the Findings of Fact. <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br /> <br />I; <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Holland to accept # 1 through #15 <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, lensen, <br />La_Due, Terry, and Thorud, Voting No: None.
