Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Terry to amend ff23 to inc[icate <br />that th~ proposed use will not involve equipment and conditions of operation that wilI be detrimental <br />to any person, property, or the general welfare by reason of excessive production of glare. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Comm~.~sioners Deemer, Terry, Holland, Jensen, <br />LaDue, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holland and seconded by Commissioner Jensen to recommend that City <br />Council approve the Fhadings of Fact as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Holland, Jensen, Deemer, <br />La_Due, Terry, and Thomd. VofingNo: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />The Planning CommissiOn proceeded to review the proposed Resolution for the Conditional Use <br />Permit. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that the sign exhibit shown by the applicant proposes more than what <br />is stated in condition ~3. Mr. Holm stated `that they would like 'to display more that the business <br />identification. Commissioner Deemer stated that #3 needs to be modified. Chairperson Bawden <br />asked for the intent of Condition #3, Ms. Frolik explained that there will be three signs rather than <br />one, with tw/ce the space allowed, and allowing off-site advertising. Ms. Frolik explained that the <br />intent of the sign is for exposure to Highway #10, therefore the message should be limited. <br /> <br />Ccmmfisdcmer Deemer stated there should be no changeable ad copy. Commissioner Holland stated <br />that candifion Jr3 needed to be modified to require a constant message or it needed to be stricken. <br /> <br />Motion by Commisfioner Holland and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to amend condition #3 <br />to state, "The sign message is herein restricted to identify the occupant and the services offered of <br />the structure at 6720 Riverdale Drive <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawdea, Commissioners Holland, Deemer, Jensen, <br />LaDue, Terry, and Thomd.. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner fensen to reCOmmend that City <br />Council approve the request for a conditional use permit and adopt a resolution declaring terms of <br />the same. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Thorud asked how the next request for off-site advertising will <br />be handled. Corrarfis~oner Holland stated the ~Planning Commission will have to review each case. <br />Commissioner Deemer explained thgt Ramsey b~sinesses will probably be allowed.
