Chairperson BaWden a_4ced what the Planning Commission's thoughts were regarding the 10 <br />additional feet needed. Commissioner Deemer statad the appIicant could look it over and come back <br />for a variance or a change in the site plan. Mr. Dolphin requested the Planning Commis~on approve <br />the site plan subject to moving the building over 10 feet. <br /> <br />Commissioner D~mer pointed out the high water table in that area, and that City services were not <br />available at this time. <br /> <br />Comm/ssioner Jeir;en asked if the elevations were correct ~ far as direction. Mr. Dolphin explakned <br />that the drive-up fide'faced west on Highway #10. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jemen asked about the metal siding. M~. Dolphin explained that they recently changed <br />that exterior finish fi-om wood, as the wood appearance did not last. Commissioner Thomd explained <br />that he preferred the metal siding. <br /> <br />Motion by Comml.qsioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holland to recommend that City <br />Council grant site plan approval to the site plan proposal for the Burger King faculty contingent upon <br />compliance with the City Staff review letter dated August 27, 1996, and. the condition that the <br />applicant can meet the 80 foot setback fi-om the right-of-way. <br /> <br />Further Discussion': Mr. Dolphin clarified that the metal siding was acceptable. <br /> <br />Motion carried.' Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #7: Request for a Conditional IJse Permit for an Off-Site Advertising Sign; Case of <br /> ttolm's Super Bowl, Inc. <br /> <br />Tim Holm of I--Iolm's Super Bow[, Inc. explained that he has renovated the building since taking <br />ownership. He explained that Holm's Super Bowl, Inc. is in a nice area of Ramsey, and he is working <br />to upgrade the business image. Mr. ~olm explained that Holm's Super Bowl, Inc. needed exposure <br />to attract new customers. He expressed that he wanted the facility to be brought to higher standards. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen pointed out the location of current signs, inclu .d~g the one located on Rivet'dale <br />Drive. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik explained that the bowling alley is located on Lot 1. She stated that City <br />Staff appreciated the efforts that the applicant has put into the property. Ms. Frolik explained that <br />the Dubats property has an 84 foot sign and a 24 foot sign, and City Code allows one freestanding <br />sign not to exceed 100 square feet on each commercial parcel. Ms. Frolik pointed out that the <br />proposed sign would be a third sign on this par~/, totaling 180 square feet.
