Mayor Hardin expressed concern about <br />emergency vehicles being able to get through. Councilmember Beyer reiterated that Mr. Mevissen <br />did not seem to h~ve a problem with it. Mr. Jankowski cautioned that if you prevent a car from <br />going through a road, you also prevent an emergency vehicle from going through. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting <br />No: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />Case #26: RePort from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) 1996 ExOmpt Wages <br /> <br />Administrative Se~ices Manager Waite Smith reported that the exempt employee wages would be <br />brought back to the Personnel Committee for discussion on September 10th. <br /> <br />2) Revised Draft Policy on Commission Appointments <br /> <br />Ms. Waite Smith explained that the Personnel Committee had reviewed the revised draft policy on <br />Commission appointments and recommended adoption of same. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt the revised <br />policy on commission appointments and to direct that the Administrative Services Manager notify <br />all boards and commissions of the policy. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Volunteer Fire Fighter Appointments <br /> <br />Ms. Waite Smith r~ported that there are currently four vacancies in the Fire Department and sixteen <br />people on the list 6f eligible candidates. The Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief and Administrative <br />Services manager lare recommending that positions be offered to the following four individuals, <br />based on their ranking on the list, time spent on the list, and hours available to respond to calls: <br />Chad Evans, Scot[ Ilstrup, Craig Lecy and Jim Tibbetts. Employment would be contingent on <br />successfully passiffg a physical examination, driver's license check and background check. <br /> <br />Motion by Councitmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to hire Chad Evans, <br />Scott Ilstrup, Craig Lecy and Jim Tibbets as Volunteer Fire Fighters, contingent on passing the <br />required physical examination, driver's license check and background check. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />4) Discuss Performance Appraisal Process for City Administrator <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer that the process for the <br />appraisal for the City Administrator should be to have each Councilmember and each department <br />head complete an evaluation form by September 10, 1996. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Moting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman.
