CASE <br /> <br />AWARD BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF <br />:WELLHOUSE AND CONNECTING WATERMAIN <br />(IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ~96-22) <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On October 8, 1996, the City Council authorized the solicitation of bids for the construction of a <br />wellhouse for Cit~ Well No. 3 which is presently under construction. This project will also <br />include a 900-footlsegment watermain to connect the well source to the distribution system which <br />currently terminates at the intersection of C.R. #56 and C.R. #116. Bids were received on <br />Wednesday, Nov ~ornber 6, 1996, from six bidders as outlined below: <br /> <br />M. C. Magney Construction, Inc. <br />Encomm/~dwest <br />G. H. T. Clonstruction <br />Richmar Construction <br />Municipal Builders <br />Sheehy Cohstmction <br /> <br />$277,838 <br />$278,380 <br />$294,260 <br />$297,070 <br />$302,600 <br />$323,012 <br /> <br />A complete bid tab, ulation is attached along with a letter from project engineer, Dick Foster. <br /> <br />Recommendatioi~: <br /> <br />Based on the recommendation letter from the project engineer, Staff recommends awarding the <br />contract to M. C. l~lagney Construction, Inc., the lowest bidder, in the amount of $277,838. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution ~'96-11-XXX awarding consu'ucfion of a wellhouse and connecting watermain <br />for Well No. 3 to1~I. C.
