Domain Name Registration.

Leasing "Disk Space" from a server-
This is the lea~t expensive alternative and is best suited for small sites. One drawback is
that it usually [makes your Web Address a little longer and thus harder for people to
remember (wWw.servername.com/yourname). In some cases this is not important. Cost
around $300/yr. Does not allow for a Domain Name Registration.

It is possible t9 change the method you use. For example if your Web Site starts out small
using the lease space method and grows to a hounderd pages you may want to switch to a
virtual server.

Updates:
Much of your information may not change. You should try to provide new content or
updated information as it becomes available. If you do not have any content to update it is
a good idea toj make an occasional appearance change. If your content/appearance does
not change m~ny people will not return and thus limiting your traffic to mostly new
people.

Marketing: ~
Unfortunately ;many sites are being developed with the attitude of "Build it and they will
come". This i~ true to some extent, however the most successful sites are those that are
promoted. Thg most common way to do this is to add your Web Address to any
advertising you do as well as stationary, etc. There are special sites on the Web that
contain "SearCh Engines". These are amazing programs that have databases of millions of
Web Sites addresses as well as the content of those addresses. This helps people find what
they are lookifig for. Some of these engines will automatically find out about your Web
Site while others need to be manually submitted to their database.

System Admisnistrator (Webmaster) vs. Independant Contractor:
Unless a Web iSite is very large in scope as well as requiring significant updates it is
usually more §ost effective to hire an Independant Contractor. This saves a full time salary
and benifits expense.

Here's how I ~:an help with your Web Site development. I can provide:

-Free consult, ation. Many developers are charging their clients for consulting time.
My opinion is. that would be like a realtor charging you for time spent showing you
a house. Man~ clients fmd guidance a neccessity in the proccess of developong a site.
-Entire site c~eation including graphics.
-Validation o1~ the coding of your site to meet the required specification of HTML
programming.
-Set up of ffl~ storage and transportation of fries to storage.
-Maintainancle of "back up" files of your site.
-Updating of Site on a as needed basis.
-CUSTOMER service if needed.

A few examples of my work can be found at:
