The ideal site/community would. <br />have the folio.wing attributes: . <br /> <br />* Acreage - Minimum of 10 acres (withoUt softball/baseball) or up to 35 - 40 <br /> acres With five softball/baseball fields. <br />* Reasonable visibility and access to major highWaYs and transportation <br /> system. <br />* Adjacegt to schools and/or educational facilities. <br />* Adjace~at to hospitality services inclUding restaurants and ayailability of <br /> +_300 ~otel rooms within 10 mile radius. <br /> <br />, Cooperative City/local participation' <br /> <br />PROJECT'S ECONOMIC IMPACT ' <br /> <br />This facility 'Will be designed to Serve as <br /> <br />a focal pOint of MinneSota' 'Sports <br /> <br />Federation's rournament activities and training programs. The integrated sports <br />complex conCept, anticipating both'the indoor volleyball~basketball faci.lity and the <br />'outdoor 'softb~l/baseball complex 'would be expected to generate-apPrOximately 100 <br />tournaments ai~d events per year.. ' <br /> <br />In addition to :Week n~ght Play and the tournaments, it is expected, that the complex <br />would be utilized a minimum of 40 out of the 52 weekends per year. which woUld. <br />generate a significant amount of out of 'toWn'travelers to. the facility. On a <br />conServative Imsis, it would be estimated that the facility would be utilized by 'over <br />75,000 participants and spectators Which would generate a.-minimum of $5,000,000 <br />of local expen~litures, in addition to having the' facility available for local participants <br />and programs. ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
